While I was in Edmonton doing some work for #Quantumdesigntech they had a customer come in that wanted some TIG welding done on these valve covers. They wanted a bunch of holes plunged up and a few nipples welded on for breathers. Cast Aluminum can be quite tricky to weld let alone when it’s all oily and greasy off of an engine. First step is to sand blast all the areas to be welded and then find the best filler rod for TIG welding cast alum. All in all this was not my first time welding cast alum so it wasn’t too big of an issue and it turned out nice! They will be sanded down and powder coated for a beautiful car.
